Padron premiered the 1926 Serie in 2002 in honor of Jose O. Padron, and the name comes from the year he was born. He opened the company in Miami in 1964 and began making cigars in Nicaragua when he opened a factory there in 1970.
The tobacco is aged five years before blending, one year longer than the 1964 Anniversary Series. Every size is offered in a sun grown natural or a maduro wrapper, and each cigar carries a one piece, individually numbered band against counterfeits. The sizes go by number rather than name, from the No. 35 and No. 6 to the No. 9, No. 1 and the No. 90 in a tube. Toro carries both wrappers across most of the range, plus a four cigar gift pack.
