The LAT 54 Special is the 5 5/8 x 54 size from L'Atelier's Selection Spéciale line, Pete Johnson's darker take on the L'Atelier blend. It swaps in a high-priming Ecuadorian Sancti Spiritus wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler, rolled at My Father Cigars in Esteli. Halfwheel's review picked up nuttiness, toast and black pepper on the finish, with woodiness and a floral touch on the retrohale and a step up in spice and strength as it burns. A rich, medium-full smoke that rewards a slow pace, packed in boxes of 15.
