Dark, oily, masterfully constructed, and beautiful in all aspects, Asylum boasts simple packaging with the trademark Asylum skull plastered in the center of the band. Though not as intense as we have come to expect for a cigar crafted by Christian Eiroa, Asylum is definitely on the heavy side of medium-full, but beautifully balanced and never overpowering. As Asylum always offers an easy draw, one can expect heavy amounts of thick, blue smoke, widely proclaiming everything that makes Asylum so amazing. Smooth notes of coffee and chocolate compliment the initial cedar blast and earthy core, while a plethora of Nicaraguan spice dances across the palate throughout. The finish is clean and smooth, and overall the cigar sports just enough complexity to keep things interesting. The highly-rated 44x4 is a petite corona, and at 4” x 44, it demonstrates the raw strength of the spicy Nicaraguan wrapper.
