The Story
About this cigar
The Rocky Patel Sapphire is the follow-up to the Emerald, built on older tobacco — the fillers are aged six to seven years, which gives it a richer, more refined profile than its predecessor while holding the same medium-to-full balance. It's wrapped in a dark Mexican San Andrés leaf and made in Nicaragua.
The San Andrés wrapper sits over two binders — one from Estelí in Nicaragua, one from the Jamastran Valley in Honduras — with all-Nicaraguan filler from Estelí, Jalapa, and Condega. With the exception of the wrapper, every leaf was grown on Rocky Patel's own farms, including the Honduran binder from a farm he held three years before the tobacco was ready. Rolled at TAVICUSA in Estelí.
The profile is espresso and coffee bean up front, a caramel sweetness off the San Andrés wrapper, and a creamy finish, with earth and a subtle spice underneath. The aged filler gives it richness and depth without a heavy nicotine punch — full flavor that stays smooth from light to finish.
