Yagua is J.C. Newman's tribute to the old Cuban farm way of making cigars. At the PENSA factory in Nicaragua, each cigar is shaped by hand without molds or presses, then tied in bundles wrapped in leaves of the yagua royal palm while still moist, so every stick settles into its own shape. An under-fermented, U.S.-grown Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper covers Nicaraguan binder and filler, and the cigars rest a full year after rolling. This Robusto is 5 x 56. Twenty cigars in a rustic wooden crate.
